Your Mom Loves You No Matter What

Mother’s Day is a celebration honoring mothers and celebrating motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in society. We believe motherhood is an honor, a journey, a privilege. It is trial and error and learning from others and ourselves along the way is paramount.

In this vein, our team will share a few posts about their mothers, motherhood and what this Sunday means to us. After all, at our core, Mom Corps Dallas strives to enhance the quality of life of North Texas families which enriches our communities and provides progressive businesses opportunities to thrive. It begins with the mama.

Top five things that I know to be true about mothers:

  1. A mom is your biggest cheerleader in life – always rooting for you!
  2. Whenever I have good news or bad news my mom is the first person I think to call to share the news with. It is nice to know if it is good news she will be so happy for me and if it is bad news she will be supportive and help in any way she can.
  3. Your mom loves you no matter what.
  4. It is ok to brag about yourself, your kids, or your husband to your mom.
  5. Moms are often the rock of the family and they do so much for everyone – but seldom do they receive the thanks they deserve.

My colleague Diane shares her funny thought about her mother:

She was a very petite woman and was never fond of being short. When I was in junior high I had a good friend, Dawn, spend the night. The next morning Dawn told me she would not stay over again because my mother wears high-heeled slippers. I didn’t understand at first, and then she explained how she was woken up by my mothers slippers “clicking” around the bed while she was making it. She was a great mother that left us too early. I miss her everyday.

Happy Mother’s Day!
