Every AI breakthrough runs on hardware that someone has to build, test, and ship, and fast. We are working with a high-growth, publicly traded AI and data center infrastructure company in the Austin area that does exactly that for the world’s leading data center technology providers. As Senior Vice President of Operations, a new role reporting to the COO, you will run a 24/7 integration and manufacturing operation of about 400 people across two sites, with a major expansion already underway.
Why This Role
You would be at the center of the AI buildout, not three suppliers removed from it. Demand is outrunning capacity. The footprint and the headcount are both growing, and the company is investing heavily to get ready for the next generation of AI data center technology. Your job is to make operations scale as fast as the business.
This is a build mandate with real authority. Because the role is new, there’s no playbook to inherit. You will shape the operating model, the leadership team, and the metrics that run the business, with a seat at the executive table and regular time in front of the board.
The package matches the stakes: competitive executive compensation, a performance bonus, and equity that can grow as the company does. For a leader who delivers, there’s room to grow into a broader leadership role over time.
What You Will Do
- Lead enterprise operations, including production, systems integration, quality, supply chain, logistics, and fulfillment
- Own the operations P&L, with responsibility for margin, cost discipline, and capital planning
- Lead the expansion: new facility launches, capacity ramps, and the workforce planning behind them
- Build and develop a senior operations team that runs a safe, high-quality, round-the-clock operation
- Set the operating cadence and KPIs that give leadership clear visibility into performance
- Partner with key suppliers and customers to secure supply and protect on-time delivery
What We Are Looking For
- 15+ years of operations leadership, including 5+ years at the VP level or above
- Experience leading highly technical manufacturing or assembly operations at a company of meaningful scale
- Full P&L ownership, with a track record of meeting margin, cost, delivery, and quality commitments
- Experience leading multi-site, 24/7 operations through a team of leaders
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Engineering, Operations, or Business
Strongly preferred:
- Public company experience
- Data center infrastructure, server or systems integration, or technology hardware manufacturing experience
- Experience with new facility startups, ISO-certified environments, and lean at scale
If you have scaled a complex operation before and want to do it again at the center of the AI buildout, we would love to talk.
