- Handle the monthly close process, budgets, payroll, develop standard procedures, project and financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger review, and operation guidelines
- Build an accounting team who will handle AR, AP, monthly account reconciliations, and analysis
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of daily transaction process while following US GAAP principles
- Handle day-to-day cash needs and provide timely weekly cash flow reports while also completing timely financial statements
- Manage simple IRA funding, workers compensation, calculate sales tax, and manage credit card statements.
- Review payroll.
- Identify meaningful metrics and build commensurate reporting procedures
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred
- CPA license is required
- 6+ years Controller experience, construction industry experience and public accounting is a plus
- Background supporting multiple entities
- Experience with inventory and percentage completion accounting and reporting
- Advanced Excel experience as well as QuickBooks Online is required; GcPay, Paycor, Bill.com is a plus
- A passion for working in a fast-paced, high-reaching environment, and tackling challenges
- Comfortable working in a trade environment
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required
- 4+ years of full-cycle general ledger experience and month-end close including proficiency with Yardi or MRI
- Ability to present information optimally with strong multitasking and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to self-manage workload responsibilities and meet timelines
- Initiative to seek out opportunities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal
- Critical thinking and excellent people skills
- Proficient use of technology including MS Office Suite and knowledge of property management software

You will handle all phases of accounting like monthly reconciling, handle and review the cash of each portfolio, ensure timely payment of utilities, taxes and mortgages, support AP at month-end, and more! What you’ll be doing:
Reconciliation – weekly bank accounts, management fees, lender escrow accounts and balance sheets
Analyzing month financial statements – creating and posting journal entries recorded to the general ledger, fixed asset depreciation and amortization schedules, review of general ledger and income statement and in-depth property manager's variance comment review
Communication – interact on a regular basis via verbal and written communication with the property management and the asset management team. Collaborate with the Controller to ensure all deadlines are met
