Fast growing commercial real estate firm based in Dallas is looking for a Real Estate Controller to join their leadership team. This company controls and manages multiple commercial properties across the US and is actively acquiring new properties. This is an exciting time to join this thriving company!

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform and lead full cycle accounting, reporting, and budgeting duties.
  • Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets.
  • Create new processes to improve financial efficiency.
  • Prepare monthly business financial reviews.
  • Balance sheet reconciliation, month-end close, billing, and account reconciliation.
  • Complete month-end closing activities, including general ledger maintenance, overhead cost allocations for various entities and properties, etc.
  • Present monthly, quarterly and yearly reconciliations for all accounts.
  • Direct budget preparation, reviews budget proposals, and prepares budgets.
  • Analyze, interpret, and manage the lease administration process.
  • Work with asset managers and property managers to resolve variances, gain insight into ordinary expenses, etc.
  • Report analysis and findings to management.
  • Manage ad hoc reports and projects.
  • Handle and review the multiple state and local filings.
  • Assist with company strategic planning and special projects as required.
  • Prepare and present financial statements and related reporting.
  • Coordinates independent audit and preparation of annual tax documents.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience is required. 5 years at the Controller or Finance Manager level strongly preferred.
  • Strong experience in Yardi, or equivalent accounting system is required.
  • Self-directed and motivated. Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong business acumen.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative attitude.
